What have I done with my life?

I've just been clowning around.

It's wonderful to have you here.

God, I should probably wait to get into this until we've built a bit of rapport and trust, but I want to get into this straight away.

One of the viral moments of 2025, there was a clip on One News, you walking from Parliament, I don't know where, maybe to a cafe or back to your hotel, and the political reporter, Mikey Sherman, she's sort of chasing you down the street, fair go style, asking you if you're robbing New Zealanders over the price of butter.

Yeah.

How do you feel about that?

Were you fuming when you got to your destination?

And those meetings like that, when you're called to Parliament for a meeting with the Prime Minister or Nicola Willis or whoever it happens to be, what are they like?

Are they tense meetings or is it crispies and cups of tea?

You've been in the role for a long time now.

Do you still get anxious with those meetings?

Yeah, it's a big job.

With great power comes great responsibility.
