And I hope to see you next time on the Dom Harvey podcast.
Hey, I'm Dom and this is my podcast, the Dom Harvey podcast.
Thanks for listening.
This episode needs to come with a strong warning.
It discusses death and forensics, often in very graphic details, so it's not going to be suitable for everyone.
Coming up,
Tom Coyle.
This episode is not an easy listen, but it's an important one.
Thomas Coyle was a forensic scientist who spent more than 30 years working crime scenes, identifying the dead and helping families find answers after unimaginable loss.
For his service, he was acknowledged in the King's Birthday Honours List in 2024, and he's just put out a book called The Dead Speak.
Thomas has worked on over 20,000 crime scenes.
He was part of the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami response, the Christchurch earthquakes, and countless murders, suicides, and unexplained deaths across the UK and New Zealand.
This conversation is, at times, gory and shocking,
but it's not about gore or shock value.
We talk about what it takes to do this job, what he really thinks of shows like CSI โ spoiler alert, he hates them โ what death smells like, and how he's learned to live with images that never truly leave you.
This conversation is confronting, it's uncomfortably honest and it's unforgettable and listener discretion is strongly advised.
This is the Dom Harvey Podcast and here is Tom Coyle.
I'm pleased you're here.
And just to clarify, we're going to be talking rubbish for two hours or so.
Okay.
