Yeah, I mean, it's only 23 years ago that we're talking, but I feel like New Zealand was a different place then, maybe more innocent than what it is now, like violent crime and stabbings in particular are fairly commonplace, sadly, in New Zealand now.

But back then, I suppose you could sit around twiddling your fingers and thumbs for a while waiting for something drastic to happen.
