When there's that much death in a concentrated area, the stench of death that you talk about, is it confined to your working environment or can you smell it like all over the region?

I mean, yeah, life goes on.

Yeah, I bring up the watches and the DVDs because you talk about that in the book.

No, it's very relatable, Liam.

Anyone that went to Thailand or Vietnam or Phuket around that time probably came home with a wallet full of DVDs.

Yeah, yeah.

And then, so you come home and there's like a debriefing with the psychologist, which is like a one hour mandatory thing.

The cynic in me says that's like a box ticking exercise.

What can you do in one hour?

back then, 2005, were you honest with the therapist or did you put on a brave face?

It's 20 years ago.

At the time, did you find that beneficial or did it feel like just an unnecessary speed hump?

Yeah, yeah.

So you just want to fit in and if no one else is doing it, you don't want to be the odd one out.

But no, it's incredibly beneficial and I think there's much better systems in place now.

There is, without a doubt.
