If you could go back and give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Is there anything you do differently?

Oh, you mean sort of like secondary school age?

Yeah, I was probably much the same.

I was consumed, consumed by stress, like during the important exams here.

Like, yeah, it's called NCEA now.

It was called school certificate when I was there.

But you sort of think, fuck, if I don't pass this, my world's over.

And you look back

so privilege upbringing nothing nothing really i don't you know nothing really to shout about on that lovely parents lovely parents exactly so but um but somehow you've managed to um you find the hunger or drive whatever you want to call it to build resilience yeah because other people have it forced upon them yeah i don't and i don't know where that one comes from i think like
