And your family dynamic, your parents still together?

Yeah, we spend so much of your time, so much of your life working, you've got to enjoy it, eh?

So were they in the crowd that tried to talk you out of this when you finished your degree and had the option of, no?

Fantastic.

Yeah.

Completely different to you, but another very successful newsletter I've had on the podcast recently is a guy called Neva Ho Sterling, who's a UFC fighter.

And it was his dream for a long time.

And he had family and uncles telling him, oh, OK, maybe dial back your expectations.

And they were just scared that he was going to get let down because it was such a lofty goal.

And now he's made the UFC.

The people that tried to talk you out of it, with some of them, did it come from like a good place?

Absolutely.

Like protecting you?

Did that piss you off, or are you the sort of person that uses it as fuel?

So Peter Beck, again, when I had him on the podcast, he told a story about a parent-teacher interview where his teacher said to his parents, Peter's dream of sending rockets into space is a little bit unreasonable.

We need to temper his expectations and his goals.

And he said on the drive home, him and his parents were sitting in silence and his dad was just like, well, fuck him.

So what do you think the lesson is for anyone that's trying, even if it comes from a place of love, anyone that's trying to talk someone down from their goal, should they just shut the hell up?

That's a good piece of advice.
