And, you know, I started my outing that night.
And I mean, I could just tell my arm is killing me.
You know, the classic cliche of, you know, it felt like somebody was stabbing me, you know, with a knife in my elbow, every throw, every pitch.
But, you know, what I valued in my career the most was number one, availability.
Being able to go whenever the manager or pitching coach needed me to go, whenever my team needed me to go.
Um, that probably worked to my detriment in the end, but you know, it's part of the story.
Right.
And so, um, I go out there, my arm is feeling like crap.
Um, and I'm just like, I got to gut through this, this inning.
Well, of course it's the Yankees.
So it's, you know, it's judge and it's soda at the time.
And it's, you know, I mean, their lineup is stacked and I'm like, okay, how am I getting through this?
And, um,
um eventually uh i think i got into a deep count with juan soto and i throw a pitch three two i throw a pitch it's like wildly outside and low but i actually slipped i slipped on the ground like you know i'm i'm facing the dirt i'm on the ground one knee and my arm is killing me and i just was like looking into the mound at the time and was like
this is it.
And I was like, I almost felt like a weight was really lifted off my shoulders because I had the moment, I walked him, the inning was going to continue.
But I just, in my head, physically, mentally, emotionally, I just knew it was over.
And my time had
you know, passed and it was time to just, you know, take your lumps, get off the field and, um, figure out kind of what's next.
And so I was emotional walking off the field.
