And inside that bubble, there's the television.

And this is John Barron.

This is the guy who's been feuding with the New York tabloids.

This is the guy who's been reading the New York Post like it's the Bible first thing in the morning for his entire adult life.

And so his entire view of the universe is ordered by

through what he sees on cable news.

And one of the great insanities of the era is the degree to which if we went back and we were to kind of look at the history of the Spanish-American War,

It would have been said that the yellow journalism of the era, it was called the Hearst War, that the Hearst newspapers really pushed the country into this war of imperial adventure in Cuba.

Remember the Maine.

It was all concocted.

It was all pushed.

The entire MAGA presidency is a function of some level of the manipulations

that begin on television by a host on Fox and Friends, or Hannity, who put into motion the seed of an idea that Trump reacts to, actualizes, make happen, and inside the terrarium, Fox News, the Megyn Kelly show, all of it a world apart

a drama plays out that's further and further and further on a daily basis removed from the lives of anybody, whether a Republican or a Democrat,

anybody in the country.

And so what you're seeing is this terrarium politics, bubble politics.

This is the politics of the Trump show, of life on the set.

These are all characters from that show that we've endured as a people, an American people, for 12 years.

And they're feuding.
