And, of course, that would mean he'd be more attractive because there wouldn't be $6.5 million for a one-year price tag.

It just seems to fit, doesn't it?

And they've got these, I believe, real character people.

We know they're real character people running the organization now.

in Ryan Johnson and the city.

And Brandon Gallagher seems like a fit, doesn't he?

So let's go back in history and talk about something that's very, very similar.

Ryan Walter is from Burnaby, from Vancouver.

And he was playing with the Montreal Canadiens, won a Stanley Cup there near the end of his career.

Character guy, just a...

A serviceable player, certainly a star earlier in his career, but serviceable on the ice late in his career, but a real leader, just a reeked leader from day one.

And he left Montreal, joined the Vancouver Canucks, and that seemed to work.

And that's when Pavel Burry and Trevor Linden were very, very young players.

And Ryan, I think, was an important part.

And we all played a couple of seasons together.
