And the guys who started on the bench that had been in the starting line-up the last few games, at least in part of one guy, was Caden Boozer and Pat Gongba.
John Shire, before he got to questions, he was almost done with his intro, and he said, before you guys get to questions, I want to single out Caden Boozer and Pat Gongba for their efforts.
They both led the team in plus-minus.
He said Caden steadied the team when he was in the game, brought a lot of poise.
Pat has a career high in points, and he mentioned the great response and the great attitude that they got after not getting the start, which is not always something that players do, right?
Some players take the motion, and they don't have that kind of attitude.
But for them, they used it as kind of a fire to โ
get back in the game.
Again, both of them having great games.
And they off the bench is the reason why we had 34 bench points.
But those guys coming off the bench and providing that spark, Pat with 17 points, five rebounds, and one assist.
Caden with 12 points, two or three from beyond the arc, four assists, two rebounds, and two steals.
These guys were really inserting themselves both on offense and then even again on defense, just trying to steady the ship and make it where we were able to do our thing.
And for Pat, the fact that he is a danger with the ball on the passing end as well, right?
Like we've seen him have games where he has three, four, sometimes even five assists this time around.
He only had one assist, but it was a banger, right?
It was that alley-oop to Malik Brown.
you could see the defense kind of be like, okay, well, we can't let him pass anymore because that'll happen.
So he, again, used his footwork to his advantage.
