I'm six hours away, but let me tell you, if I had the chance, I would have left my wife and kids home last night and drove overnight, and they're sitting right next to me.
Welcome back.
It's Pomp and Joe with Donnie Football and Austin City Limits Bechtold here.
And we're on Federal Street.
And we have Connor Griffin's family standing right in front of us right now.
They're pumped for the game.
And joining us right now is Connor's dad, Kevin.
Kevin, we really appreciate you taking the time, and you just told us you're the softball coach at Belle Haven University in your 17th year.
You've had a lot of success there, and you're missing the biggest games of the season today.
What's happening?
Kevin Griffin, Connor's dad, joining us on set.
Kevin, when I was 19, I was still watching cartoons.
I was slinging pizza.
Connor carries himself, people say, like a 35-year-old guy, just incredibly mature, incredibly kind person.
Did you sense this early that he was sort of ahead of his years?
And just speak about how you raised him because that's obviously a reflection on you and your wife.
Kevin, I'm looking at something here that says Connor's father coached him early in their yard, and he often played wolf ball with his brothers.
What's that?
There you go, Limits.
We have a wiffle ball player right here.
