I mean, maybe it has, and we've just missed it over the years, but I don't recall a time where it's, hey, this guy is extending his time in Minnesota, or, oh, he just got a new job as the OC with the Chargers, but wait a minute, he's still on the head coach market, so if he gets a job there, it's goodbye to that team.
I mean, all I can think of is the weird move that Josh McDaniels pulled on the Colts
years ago like he agreed to be their head coach and then he backed out of it the midnight hour I mean you think of the Belichick thing from way way back which basically rerouted NFL history if you think of it that way yeah I don't recall times where we've seen guys announced in a position
And then they say, well, wait a minute, if these guys, you know, if he gets a head coaching job, then he's he's gone.
So just forget about what we just said.
Right.
And then when it comes to McDaniel, I agree with you.
I see him more as that savvy offensive coordinator, but who could be a great one in that role.
And he has proven that great offensive mind.
But I just don't see the guy as a head coach.
He's not a guy that has the element where he can command a room and lead a bunch of alpha males.
out onto the football field.
Now, I do credit the Dolphins turned things around this year when they looked dead in the water.
They were 2-7 at one point.
Then they started to rattle off some wins.
They came in here on a Monday night with four straight wins before the Steelers beat them up.
McDaniel to me, like you hear him talk.
The funny thing about all of that, you hear him speak and think that's the head coach.
And I know that we will get to Anthony Weaver in a little bit, who is interviewing with the Steelers right now or at some point today.
And, Austin, there are a couple of clips in Pony's folder that I cut yesterday.
