And you know, that for, for essentially a first paid gig, I'm like, fantastic.
Wow.
That's a good question.
I know the exact numbers of talks that I give.
In 2013, I gave 59 talks.
In 2014, it was 61 talks.
I haven't actually calculated the number that I have done this year because I usually run them at the end of the year.
But, you know, I mean, the rough breakdown is that if it's for an academic institution, usually it's free.
Sometimes if it's around a book launch, I will waive my fee if they buy books.
So we try to do it that way.
Um, you know, it's kind of a, kind of a rolling thing.
Generally I shoot for, um, like I'm, I'm doing one, uh, in a couple of weeks in DC where they're buying 250 books and, and then also, uh, giving me five grand.
So it's like, you know, kind of splitting, uh, splitting things between books and some money.
So I feel like that's, you know, that's a decent win.
Yeah.
Yeah, it actually works pretty well for the client oftentimes because it means they can draw from two different pockets of money.
So they have more to play with because they have the speaking budget and the education budget.
So I'm not 100% sure for 2014, but for this year, I'm going to be making probably about somewhere between $125,000 and $150,000 just from speaking.
At this point, it's done over 30,000.
That's actually a not totally updated number because the archaic publishing process, they only give you your numbers every six months.
