And after a while, there are certain writers, specific writers kind of end up writing mostly for certain cast members.
They just have a they click the chemistry.
So they'll be paired.
They'll become office mates.
And yeah.

When Kevin popped on my screen in the background, he had, like, all these Emmy Awards.

It's not... You know, there's a...
There's a rewrite table that happens on Thursday where the sketches that have been picked get sort of punched up.
And there's actually two tables.
So half the sketches go to one table and half the sketches go to the other.
And so, you know, they can sit around where it's like, OK, let's come up with a better joke than the one that's currently in the script.
And.
You know, again, I wasn't, I didn't sit in on those tables because I wasn't a sketch writer, but you know, there is pressure to come up with stuff, but I don't, I didn't ever get the sense that the writers that were sitting on those tables were
God, I want to know that.
That's why, for me, Weekend Update, being a writer at Weekend Update, was such a good fit because we basically were allowed, the dedicated Weekend Update writers, we had our own little office.
There were three writers, and we would just sit there on our computers and just write jokes all day.
I want to do that.
