California Democrat Eric Swalwell says he plans to resign his seat in Congress.
Swalwell's resignation follows a report of him allegedly committing sexual assault on a former staffer.
And a separate report cited four women who described Swalwell committing sexual misconduct.
Now, Manhattan prosecutors had opened a criminal investigation into these allegations, which Swalwell denied.
And on Monday, the House Ethics Committee announced it had started a separate probe.
On Sunday, Swalwell abandoned his campaign for governor of California.
Just weeks ago, he had been polling among the top Democrats to succeed Gavin Newsom.
And at the same time today, Texas Republican Congressman Tony Gonzalez said he plans to retire from the House on Tuesday.
This announcement comes weeks after Gonzalez admitted to having an affair with a staff member.
President Trump's naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is underway.
It cuts off vessels from transiting the vital waterway to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas.
Now, this move came in response to failed negotiations over the weekend between the U.S.
and Iran.
Even so, today, Trump said Iran still wants to make a deal.
Here is Trump on what happened over the weekend.
But now we are hearing the U.S.
and Iran are in discussions about holding another round of face-to-face negotiations for a longer-term ceasefire.
We are told the goal is to hold fresh talks before a two-week ceasefire announced on April 7th expires, with one idea being a return to Islamabad for a second round of negotiations.
The stock market closed at session highs today after President Trump's remarks, with the S&P finishing up 1%.
And with that gain, the S&P 500 has erased all its losses since the war in Iran began, just 30 trading days since the onset.
