and Iran appear to be making little progress toward an interim deal to end the war.

Now, negotiations between Washington and Tehran are bogged down over the fate of frozen Iranian assets.

The Trump administration is now seeking to steer them toward helping Gulf allies rebuild from damage caused by the conflict.
