The Supreme Court has reinstated a Republican-friendly congressional map in Alabama, and the ruling will allow the state to eliminate a majority black house district for the November midterm elections.

Now, the high court's decision blocked a lower court ruling that would have required Alabama to keep using the map with two majority black districts.

The Democrats won in 2024.

In Iowa, there were primary races for the U.S.

Senate seat currently held by GOP Senator Joni Ernst, who is retiring.

On the Republican side, U.S.

Representative Ashley Hinson won.

Hinson was endorsed by President Trump.

And on the Democratic side, Josh Turek won the nomination.

Rebecca Bennett is the projected winner in the Democratic primary for New Jersey's 7th Congressional District, according to both AP and Decision Desk.

Now, this was considered to be one of the most competitive midterm races in the country, and it sets up a November showdown against GOP Congressman Tom Kaine Jr.,

Kaine has been out of sight since early March due to an unexplained medical condition.

And Democrats see this race as one of their best chances to gain a seat in the narrowly divided House of Representatives.

The Trump administration is dropping plans for a $1.8 billion fund to pay victims of alleged government weaponization.

Now, this move follows backlash from both Democratic and Republican lawmakers.
