Whatever had happened, it was dangerous.

This was not just a grounding,

It was not just something that snapped.

This was something else.

And Dougal jumped out of the bed, jumped off the bed, and was trying to find out what had happened.

And I remember looking down from the cockpit hatch down through the engine room to where he was standing.

And I said, and he was up to his ankles in water.

And I said, Dougal, what are you doing?

What are you doing?

And he said, where's this water coming from?

And I said, I don't know.

I was a petulant teenager, 18 and a half by then, you see.

I said, I don't know where it's coming from.

And then I heard a big surging noise.

And I looked over my left-hand shoulder, and there were three killer whales.

A daddy one, a baby one, and a mummy one.

And the Danny one had a big slit cut across the top of his head.

And he was bleeding into the water.

And I looked at that and I thought, instinctively, I thought, that whale's cut his head on the boat.

Those whales have hit the boat.
