So insulin is really, really important and your insulin working well is important.
Your insulin will work well provided you don't over consume refined sugar and your body has to deal with really high levels of insulin to break it down.
Now, what...
What it can do to your fats are these triglycerides that I mentioned earlier.
So they're a particular type of fat.
They're not a helpful type of fat at all.
So they can be problematic, not in the same way as LDLs, but they can be problematic.
And they go up if you've got some insulin resistance, if you're not breaking down your sugars very effectively, or if you've got a lot of central obesity fat around your tummy.
And they can add to the problems of what LDLs do.
Right.
So you've made a really interesting point there because when you're thinking of butter, you're actually thinking of a type of fat called a saturated fat.
So you may well have seen adverts on TV where they go, this is high in saturated fats and low in unsaturated fats and all this.
And you're like, what does that even mean?
What are you talking about, Jess?
Yes, exactly.
So again, the fats in your food are good fats and bad fats, essentially.
And unsaturated fats are the ones that are found in plants mainly, are things like nuts and seeds, olive oil, all of those things, carbohydrates.
Yes, yeah.
Good fats.
So they're unsaturated fats.
