So it's never about focusing on one nutrient.
It's all about balance.
So as long as you are getting your fruit and veg in there, as long as you're getting your lean meats like fish in there as well, you're getting that balance, then it's okay.
The problem is people will have...
butter and cheese and then a whole load of ultra-processed foods and then it all adds up and the balance isn't there.
They are good types of fat.
They've got unsaturated fat in them, but they've also got those omega-3 fatty acids, which again are fabulous.
Fish, oily fish in particular.
So it's great for your brain health, for your blood vessel health, helps manage your cholesterol as well because it's good fat.
And it's the same with avocados.
It's lovely unsaturated fat, similar to olive oils.
Let's talk about alcohol.
Does that affect cholesterol?
So people ask me that and I sound a bit confused when I say, yes, it can do.
So remember, cholesterol is made in the liver.
70 to 80% of your cholesterol is made in the liver.
Alcohol is also broken down by the liver.
So if you are drinking too much, that can put additional pressure on the liver.
