Here's a way to mend your genes.
In the course of making this whole series where my search history has gone completely haywire, and I've found out things that no normal human ABC broadcaster should look up on their work computer, like the fact that there's dino erotica, or that horses make this sound when they're about to ejaculate, or that parts of semen might be inside your brain right now.
Anyway, what I've come to understand is sex is where evolution has used gaffer tape, an eggshell and a battery from a torch to fix millions of problems with life on Earth.
And that's why it's so weird.
The curly vaginas and spiky penises, the chemical warfare and immune systems swiping left and lies and anatomy and culture all
all together in a heady mix that gives us Earth's sexual history.
It's all just been a big cheat code for new life.
Sex is weird, and you've listened to a whole series about it.
At least I hope you have.
If not, go to the ABC Listen app, find What the Duck, and go back to the start, because there's a fair bit to take in.
Earth, this is your sexual history.
I mean, do we know why we do it?
These proteins can leave the reproductive system.
If it's not in the vagina, then where is it?
Not all ducks do that.
