But the strange thing about this dog was it had been vaccinated six months prior and should be protected.
But there were some inconsistencies in the story, which I'll come back to in a little bit.

But in 2025, there's been, in the U.S., 15 rabies outbreaks, generally along the northern states.
In the U.S., 100,000 people were treated last year for post-rabies exposure.
In Canada, it was approximately 10,000 people.
And this is not...
This is not a normal thing.
It's becoming more problematic.
It's not because we're testing more.
It is because we're sharing this world, encroaching, some may say, on wildlife.
There is a story out of Maine.
Dr. Christine Calder, a colleague, let's say, of mine, certainly in my industry, she was coming out of a car and a raccoon came out of the bushes and charged at her and bit her.
And then the raccoon ended up having rabies.
So basically get your animals vaccinated, follow the protocols.
The cliffhanger is the dog was vaccinated, but it was showing signs, behavioral signs and aggression.
While it was vaccinated, like sort of during that time period.
