So mom thinks she's really being a great mom if she lathers her son or her daughter with sunscreen.
And now you've seen in the last couple of years, sunscreens have come under a lot of scrutiny because of the toxins they have in them.
That if you put it on someone's skin, it goes into their body.
What kind of toxins?
Like parabens and phthalates.
There's a brand new study where they looked at cord blood and autism.
And moms who had higher levels of phthalates had a five times increased risk of having an autistic child.
So when Secretary Kennedy says we're going to look at toxic exposure and autism, I'm like, we absolutely should look at that.
I wrote an op-ed piece in the New York Times recently.
It was actually in response to Alan Francis, who was in charge.
He's a psychiatrist, very famous, was in charge of the DSM-IV program.
So the DSM, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, its fourth version changed the diagnostic criteria.
It's a hugely significant book.
Huge.
And he said, well, that's the reason.
For the rise in autism.
And I wrote, that's sort of like the fox guarding the hen house.
It's, you know, autism clearly has exploded.
And it's not just due to different diagnostic criteria.
It's due to a gene environmental bomb.
