And I got there and ended up being that trip of a lifetime for me.
Like there for four months volunteering at this museum.
And yeah, that's what got my kind of foot on the ladder.
It really varies as well.
And it kind of touches into this golden age.
Right now, there's more paleontologists than ever alive.
And there's more jobs now, even though it's still really niche.
It's super competitive now.
And so you might even get an undergrad, a master's, PhD, and have a whole lot of experience.
You still might not be able to get a job.
It's that competitive.
And so like a large chunk of my work has been freelance.
And so we work with lots of museums, with lots of universities, kind of on digs, writing books, on public lectures, on a bit of teaching.
But then I work with the University of Manchester, which is an unpaid position, but I work with students and things.
I've had that affiliation as an honorary research fellow since 2013.
And then one of the big things I've managed to get
for four years is working as an 1851 research fellow.
And 1851 is called the Royal Commission of 1851.
It's an amazing organization in London.
And they have funded my research for four years.
