How they affect governments?
Because all of this ultimately affects the daily lives of each one of us, no matter where we are on the economic scale.
And trying to figure out a framework to think about these issues, to my mind, is a really interesting and challenging issue.
Now, one may not have all the answers, but I think if one can put a good framework
framework around these issues, that is a very important step in progress towards finding the answers.
So at least in a very limited view of mine, you know, as an academic, I think trying to come up with analytical frameworks for understanding what is happening around us is the way I would think about my own success.
But the real success has to come in terms of whether it makes the lives of common people at least in some marginal way better.
So what makes me happy is, again, grappling with these issues.
Of course, I think, you know, family and health are two of the things that are essential to one's happiness.
Those are very hard to substitute for.
On a professional level, it is really trying to have some
influence on the policy debate and again grappling with these issues which are very broad complex and therefore extraordinarily difficult to come to terms with you know making even incremental progress on those and just the process of trying to think through this which is extremely arduous and therefore enormously fun makes me happy

This was meant to be a cheerful book.
And as I mentioned in our previous discussion, I like to make sense of what is happening in the world around us.
And this book was my attempt to come to grips with changes in the world economic order.
And I had planned to write a book about all the forces that would lead to a more stable order.
You know, there's been some changes in the distribution of global economic power with many of the advanced economies in the West.
declining, although the US is an exception to that.
On the other hand, many emerging market economies like China, India are accreting more economic power.
