It is the first real large-scale Scottish battlefield victory over an English army, and it'll probably be the last one for a while as well. But what the battle does do is give the Scots, give Bruce a lot of English prisoners, and he's able to use them to exchange for various Scottish captives, including his wife, including his daughter, his sisters, and he's finally able to welcome them back to Scotland.
