The Medtronic, Altaviva, and Valencia Equine are above the fascia devices.
And the Blue Wind, you open up the fascia and it lies below the fascia.
For the above the fascia devices, the Medtronic, Altaviva, and the Valencia Equine, they automatically stimulate the tibial nerve.
A device is placed on top of the fascia on the medial side of the ankle in the area where the tibial nerve runs.
I believe the Medtronic device goes off every other day for 30 minutes and the Valencia goes off approximately twice a week for 30 minutes.
The Valencia device is a primary cell, so the battery typically lasts somewhere between three and six years.
The Medtronic device is a rechargeable battery where you have to put an external recharger on it.
I believe the battery life is more than 10 years, and I believe the recharging frequency is about once a year.
The Valencia device is basically a set-and-forget-it device.
Once you turn it on,
You really don't have to adjust the device.
Medtronic has adjustability, which allows us to kind of change settings if patients aren't getting the desired results.
The BlueWind device is a little different.
As I mentioned already, it's placed below the fascia and there's no battery on board.
I think
Once a device is placed, the patient has to wear an ankle monitor daily for 30 minutes up to two hours.
And since there's no battery on board, I think this device can last 10 or more years.
So that's interesting because it requires more patient involvement to activate the device.
Yes.
In my patient population, they kind of want to put in the device that they can put in and forget about.
