There's always going to be some, a little bit of leftover.

And the leftover is tradition.

I mean, this is Eve Kangara, the meaning of tradition, you know?

I don't know.

That's a wrong way to phrase it, but...

Let me give you an illustration.

we discover things that we believe that we're not quite aware that we believed before.

And let me use an analogy.

A few years ago, I encountered, you know, children's books.

And children's books will often be titled something like, you know, The Big Red Truck or The Little Blue Truck.

And that sounds right to our English ears.

And if you say the red big truck or the blue little truck, it's like, that's weird.

I was not aware of this, but there is a rule of grammar in English that size precedes color.

So it is proper to say the big red truck, the little blue truck.

I didn't know the rule.

I didn't know that there was such a thing.

I could understand what people were trying to say if they said,

the blue little truck, but it sounded funny.

So what that illustrates is I knew how to speak good English.

I knew how to speak English.
