As I've said before, it deals with fight, fright, flight, making love and fawning.
And it activates a specific bunch of metabolic and muscular and hormonal activities to help you get out of a fight.
So the blood supply to your skin is decreased...
so you don't bleed too much.
The blood supply to your muscles is increased, so you're sitting there shivering because you want to do something, but you haven't got a target yet.
And the blood supply to your gut is decreased, so you're ready to vomit.
And that nauseous thing is related to that.
So if there's a really big fight going on between a couple of animals, you'll see one of them will just stop and then casually go...
and just vomit out everything.
Okay, I'm a bit lighter and I'm ready to fight you.
And so that's part of what's happening in humans.
We get that sort of nausea thing.
And it can happen to an unnecessary degree in some people where if you're just thinking, I've got to catch the bus.
Oh, my God, I'm getting nervous in case I'm late.
So there's a whole bunch of practical things you can do like the β
four, three, two, one thing like the grounding.
Right now I'm worried about the bus but I can, there are five things that I can see and I can feel four things like I can feel my socks and the winds blowing on my face and I can hear the sound of the birds and you ground yourself in the reality and you move yourself away from that.
And then also just actually walking and getting physical helps and then there's all that boring stuff about being healthy and well-rested and sleep, all that sort of stuff.
Does that kind of help a bit?
Is that what you're interested in?
