Yeah, it is tricky.

I was travelling back from Melbourne yesterday next to a pilot and he showed me a picture of me giving him a prize when he was 10 years old at his local school.

And now he's flying around on aeroplanes and he was just deadheading from one city to another.

Deadheading means that they're just doing a transit and they're flying the plane.

So I'll give you the first explanation which is wrong.

So just imagine that you're travelling in a car and this is illegal.

You're not allowed to put your hand outside the window but just imagine in a safe controlled environment you put your hand out of the window and you're travelling at speed and your hand is parallel to the ground.

Okay, so your hand is not tending to go up or down and it's just parallel to the ground.

If you lift your fingertips upwards, the air starts to hit the bottom of your hand and your hand begins to rise.

It gets lifted up suddenly, more so if you're traveling faster.
