I always find it fascinating being a urologist and doing what we do.

Has there ever been as much public controversy about penile lengthening, injections to make the penis wider?

That's just kind of a fact of life.

Like if you want it, you do it.

No one would be judgy about it.

But yet if a woman wants to make her vagina more sexual, whether it's appearance or functional...

We're like, what are you doing?

Why are you doing vaginal rejuvenation?

There is a double standard.

And I think that being urologists who practice urogynecology, men with prostate cancer give them testosterone all the time.

Nobody bats an eyelash.

But you want to give a woman some vaginal estrogen, even though the data shows that it doesn't get absorbed systemically because there's a black box warning on it.

There's a black box warning on quinolones, I think.

And that doesn't stop us from prescribing them.

I think an important point to make is vaginal rejuvenation is not a procedure because people are asking what it is.

And it's really more of a marketing term, if you will.

And one of our, now she's attending, but at the time, one of our residents, Paige Kuhlman, did a study where we polled lay people and physicians, including internal medicine, plastics, urologists, what vaginal rejuvenation was.

And there was such a wide range

response including things like vaginal tightening or a labiaplasty or even just injection of you know the alleged g-spot so i think again to reinforce what ariana said earlier it's really important to open this conversation because people go in saying maybe i need vaginal rejuvenation what exactly do you mean and

Whether it is cosmetic surgery or surgery that has a medical indication, it's all in the expectation.
