We have 30,000 people who tried to get into the trial for 242 spots.
So patients want this.
You know, I've been very lucky.
You give me a lot of credit.
Thank you.
I have a thousand scientific co-authors.
And if you wrote... ...to start companies and make clinical progress on the business side, if you wrote papers with them, I'd have another thousand.
And that's what... And so you talk...
years, but it's 2,000 people that you work with over 30 years in order to get this thing to happen.
And so I'm sitting here talking to you and all along the way, I've enjoyed this.
I mean, I love doing science.
I love, you know, waking up in the middle of the night thinking maybe that experiment today will help this patient tomorrow.
And, you know, I'm the luckiest guy to be able to do what
what I get to do.
The patients are the ones that are the heroes.
They don't choose to have the disease.
And they sign up for clinical trials.
I mean, they sign up and say, yes, doctor, you can implant this thing in my neck and we don't know if it will work.
They're the heroes.
They didn't choose the path that they were pushed on.
