Actually, several of Dan's friends came to me and they said, Dan's in trouble.
We need you to help him.
Okay, fine.
So I talked to him.
Here's what we learned.
Dan is taking a Sonata to fall asleep, which is a sleeping pill.
It's a mild sleeping pill.
Halfway through the night, he was waking up and taking an Ambien in the middle of the night, which is a strong sleeping pill.
He would wake up in the morning and take an extended release Adderall because he was so loopy from taking a sleeping pill in the middle of the night.
And when that would fade out, he would take a Ritalin halfway through the day.
He was 78 years old when this was going on.
This is called speedballing, okay?
This is a terrible, terrible idea.
So I worked with Dan, and here's what we did.
I said, do me a favor, take the Ambien that you're taking in the middle of the night, put it to the beginning of the night.
By the way, I did this all with his doctor's permission.
I did this with an MD working together.
We moved the Ambien to the beginning of the night, and guess what?
He wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night, so boom, we got rid of the Sonata.
