You don't have to block the eye entirely.
You can just do a drop that slightly blurs the eye by opening the pupil up.
And now the eye that was sort of behind catches up.
That is super practical, super cost-effective.
Atropine costs pennies.
It's super safe.

Just full disclosure, I had my own amblyopia experience as a kid.
When I was a very young person, I sat and tried Popsicle sticks.
I had lazy eyes, strabismus, and then that ended up causing me double vision and trouble reading when I was a very young child.
My eyes are now well aligned.
