Because as we spoke about earlier in the broadcast, it can be an indication of an internal condition that you want diagnosed sooner rather than later.
I have a friend, a lady, who had a little purple bump on her belly.
didn't hurt, didn't bleed, didn't really cause any symptoms.
She thought it was kind of a bug bite, but bug bites should go away usually in two, three weeks.
And she decided to go in, very smart lady, went and saw her dermatologist.
They did a little skin biopsy, which is a very quick, easy little thing to do in the office.
It turned out she had a relatively rare blood cancer, plastic plasma cytoid dendritic cell neoplasm, a big name, but basically the skin... Spell that.
It would take the rest of the podcast itself.
But the point is she went in and this was diagnosed from the skin biopsy.
And she went ahead and got treatment and it required, you know, she went to MD Anderson and saw an expert and when she was treated and she basically is doing very well.
But the point is when you have something on the skin and you're not sure what it is, it can be indicative of something going on internally, right?
And you want to get that diagnosed because the sooner you get it diagnosed, usually the easier it is to treat.
So the nice thing about the skin is that we can see it.
It's not like doing a lung biopsy or a kidney biopsy.
And we could get diagnosis and we can get that patient going on the right pathway to treatment.
