Is it out of pocket?
And I agree it's a very broad term.
Would you both say that vaginal rejuvenation is synonymous with a mommy makeover?
What's a mommy makeover?
Yes.
And along those lines, it's not only people in our specialty who perform vaginal rejuvenation.
We have, you know, general gynecologists doing it.
We have probably some dermatologists treating it with laser and even plastic surgeons.
And there's a whole field known as cosmetic gynecology.
And the American Urogynecologic Society actually put out a whole
bulletin of guidelines about what is cosmetic gynecology and how we define it.
So maybe we should kind of delve into some of the procedures that might fall under the umbrella of vaginal rejuvenation and whether we want to divide it up into kind of cosmetic procedures versus more functional quality of life correction.
I would just ask you both sort of what would you think of as some common rejuvenation procedures that patients might be seeking?
And how would you guys comment about, are these procedures often covered by insurance?
Are they out-of-pocket expenses?
Are they considered cosmetic?
Can they be medical or functional?
Right.
It's like a deep or a tram flap done for breast reconstruction gives you a tummy tuck, right?
So I think, I bet there's also some regional differences because I know in New York, I really don't have a problem getting labiaplasty covered.
