She texts Ruben and is relieved when he texts back.
I'm telling him that there are no stairs and that anyone he encounters in the elevator is not human, she says to Cass.
He's on an elevator with a woman now.
If he keeps lying to her, then she won't get angry.
And this manifestation is not one Ruben wants to be angry with him.
Cass nods as if he understands.
Lamiere shakes her head.
She tucks her phone back in her pocket, glad to have helped Ruben navigate the elevator situation.
Something else nags at the back of her mind, but she can't grasp it.
She has more important issues to deal with than an old, cranky retired agent.
