And so when I evolved my practice after finishing medical school and residency as an internal medicine physician, it really was under the frame of, well, how can I really truly help people work on their health in a foundational way? And that really evolved over many years through the fields of hyperbaric oxygen therapy,

to meeting a fantastic mentor that created something called Health Optimization Medicine and Practice, which he had, Dr. Ted Achikosa was his name, which he developed in his own practice and then was bringing here into the United States from Manila in the Philippines where he was born and had a practice there, along with DC and Europe as well.

It was a nonprofit organization that we incorporated in 2017 to train practitioners on his framework, which became the framework that I use in clinical practice. And so my evolution has sort of been in that realm, which is alternative, conventional, bringing these together, creating my own integrative practice in the image of things that were really interesting to me as I evolved.

Yeah, yeah. I mean, for a long time, when I finished my residency and I got more involved in hyperbaric medicine, I found this a fantastic tool, a fantastic tool for healing, for accelerating performance, for recovery. But I was missing a foundation to it because I found that if you put people in a chamber too early, if they had chronic issues... that they wouldn't do as well as I anticipated.

I would try to figure out, well, what was going on here? So I would refer over to my friends that were doing functional medicine. And then I was like, well, this is good, but I need to be doing something on my own, something that I could do in my own clinical practice to really be able to support these patients.

And that's when I met Dr. Ted and I met this framework that he was developing that really looked at energy and mitochondria and sort of cellular health first before anything else.

And that really gravitated, that really was something I gravitated towards because I realized, and that's really what I was doing in the chamber, was really trying to push energy production, push the processes of the body to recover and heal. But if you didn't have the machinery to be able to do that, if you didn't have the machinery to be able to

optimize the mitochondria to help with energy to help with detox to help with blood flow etc like you weren't going to get as far as you could within a hyperbaric context and so for me that that was really a big big turning point for me as i was creating my own practice was like i didn't have that foundation and now and then i did create that you know with with the help of dr ted and then this framework in 2019 or so that became a big part of what i do

I think over the years, it's getting bigger and bigger and the number of people that are moving or interested in alternative kind of medical treatments or medical care or outside of the conventional system because it fails so many people.
