So consciously catching yourself out is an incredibly powerful first step.
And then the next step is to direct your attention.
Direct your attention to what you can focus on, moving to that idea of study or emulation.
That in itself is reengaging those frontal regions of the brain, which is going to help quieten the emotion centers and allow you to take the best next step for you.
Fake it till you make it is something that we hear constantly.
I don't necessarily like the idea of faking anything because I think that links to inauthenticity and it might give people permission to do things that are completely insincere.
I like to use what Amy Cuddy describes as be it until you become it.
Which is, you know, it's a matter of semantics, but I think it resonates so much more with people who are all about sincerity and authenticity and integrity.
You do not have to fake being someone else.
You need to be that person, have the energy that you want to be exuding, see yourself achieving what you want to see, who you want to be, right?
And then show up every day as if you've already achieved it.
There is this remarkable thing that happens, which has not been able to be measured just yet.
