I think the one that came up that really had to change for me, that was big for me, and I'm sure has contributed to the creative story, was that everything had to be perfect. I had to get 10 out of 10 on the spelling test, and if I didn't, I was questioned about why I got one thing wrong as a kid. An affirmation I made when I changed my career was let your true self shine through.

And it's not necessarily related to that everything had to be perfect, but there were a few reasons that those sort of themes came up. So I used that one, let your true self shine through, for quite a while until that became very natural for me. And then I struggled with things like good enough is okay. I could not really get my head around that for a very long time. And what I realized was that

the behavior that was panning out for me was I had such high expectations that everything had to be perfect. And then I thought, well, it's not going to be perfect. So, you know, I was just looking out for everything that was like less than perfect or wrong. And then I realized that actually usually in the end, whether it's perfect or not is irrelevant.

I do quite a good job of most of the things that I do and I'm proud of them afterwards, but I've caused myself so much stress in the run up to it. And, you know, the closest people around me may be felt some of that stress too, that that really just wasn't worth it. And I gave myself the data and the evidence that usually the projects that I pay my attention to turn out really well.

So I kind of just learned to drop the stress around perfection that was coming with that. And I think a big learning that I had as well is that things don't always pan out how you plan. So becoming more flexible and open and spontaneous was important.

And I think both of those things have definitely contributed to being more creative, because in creativity, there is no such thing as perfection, and you do have to be flexible and spontaneous.

Yeah, I mean, as a serial entrepreneur like you, that's quite an obvious, in a way, just very tangible. But what I want to put behind that, that I'm sure you have examples of as well, is that it's the way that you deal with that that's the actual test. Right. Because something can not go as planned, and you could waste months or years dwelling on that.
