There's around, I guess, eight days around ovulation.
So you're most fertile the two days before and day of ovulation.
And there's basically zero chance of conceiving after that.
And it can be tricky to kind of figure out when you're ovulating.
So people use period tracking apps, but it's really important to not place too much emphasis on those because they can be wrong.
A lot of them assume that women have a 28-day cycle and that's certainly not the case.
You know, we now from these period tracking apps have big population pools of data where only I think 13% of women had a 28-day cycle.
So we're finally kind of getting a good understanding of what normal is.
Normal actually is.
I think a lot of people misunderstand or think that you're able to test your fertility, but that's certainly not the case.
Unfortunately, the only real test of fertility is trying to get pregnant when you're ready.
Yeah, no, that's right.
There is so much misinformation online on social media about this and our research has found that a lot of influencers are plugging in particular the anti-malarian hormone or AMH test as a simple test of your fertility, but that's definitely not the case.
Yes, so it's a blood test.
So the AMH test measures the level of antimalarian hormone in the blood and this AMH hormone is secreted by the small follicles in the ovary so it can give an indication of
of how many eggs might be in the ovary.
However, it's not predictive of fertility.
So how long it will take to get pregnant, your chance of conceiving or your reproductive timeline.
And so I think it's really important for women to have a good understanding of what that test can tell them.
