Maybe the ER is way too far away.
We have stubborn parents.
We all have stubborn parents, it seems, who just say, leave me alone.
Let me die.
I mean, it's terrible, but that's kind of what happens.
And so
My mom has given me permission to talk about this.
I'm not going to go into too much detail except tell you that she experienced a bout of severe dehydration during an illness recently.
And I'm going to share with you what that looks like in general.
So this can happen most readily to children and to old people.
I'll tell you how I think about medicine.
When I think of adults, I think of dogs.
And when I think of kids and elderly people, I think of cats.
And let me explain.
I understand dogs.
I understand their physiology.
I understand their behavior.
I understand how to help them.
I am amazing.
I'm like a part-time, I joke that I'm a part-time veterinarian.
