They call this the maturity principle.
Where your conscientiousness rises, your agreeableness rises, neuroticism goes down.
I don't know if it's really a mark of maturity or not, but it does happen.
You lived life and you killed out.
It absolutely is.
I guess one thing I wanted to bring up too, though, was that, you know, those types of studies where we do see that, like, it's predictable.
Pretty much the entire population moves in that direction.
But what about the people who actually do put in a lot more work?
Because if we're just doing population level, this is how people change and whatnot.
Doesn't that get kind of watered down by the people who just don't even try?
And I don't think we've done those studies.
I don't think we actually can know that.
Is the effort, which is what we're going to really be talking about more and more, like where are you aiming that effort?
I still agree it probably shouldn't be at the trait level.
You're describing the population and how they shift over time.
