And then when my grandpa passed away, we moved back to Atlanta.
And I stayed in Atlanta until I moved to L.A.
until 2016.
I've always had a lot of jobs.
I've always worked because I've been working since I was nine.
I was always good at getting a job, but I always hated jobs because I was like, I'm not supposed to be here.
I'm not supposed to be sitting in some office making some white man's dream come true.
That's what every job is, is sitting in an office making some white man's dream come true.
So I was like, I got to get out of here and make my own dreams come true.
And then I started doing...
Stand up in 2009.
And I didn't expect to be doing it in this year in May.
It'll be 17 years that I've been doing stand up.
Well, I wanted to be an actor.
I mean, I am an actor, but I'm more a performer because the goal was always to make a living as a performer.
I never wanted to sit in an office all day, just sitting in an office all day just felt like
it's factory work.
It's just a different kind of factory.
Instead of putting windshields and Buicks, you're pushing paper or sending an email.
It's still like repetitive work.
