Some news just into us now from the court.

I didn't have a very good childhood.

Unfortunately, once something is reported publicly, it can continue to circulate as fact even when the reality is different.

At that stage, he was suffering from severe dementia and often did not even recognise his own name.

Whatever people believe about him, the reality at the end of his life was very different from the image often portrayed.

The victims deserve compassion and recognition for what they endured.

At the same time, his children have also had to live with the consequences of his actions for most of our lives.

Many of us are now parents ourselves and are trying to build normal lives for our own families.

But stories like this bring everything back up again.
