French President Emmanuel Macron is calling on medium-sized powers to join forces and stand up to the U.S.

and China.

Macron hammered the message during his tour of Asia this week where he discussed maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and closer cooperation with South Korea and Japan, two countries badly suffering from high energy costs as the war in Iran keeps the Strait closed.

European countries, he said, have a shared agenda with places like Japan and South Korea on issues like international law, democracy, climate change and global health.

According to a US Supreme Court spokeswoman, Justice Samuel Alito was examined by a doctor last month

after falling ill during an event in Philadelphia.

The court confirmed the March 20th incident in a statement Friday afternoon after it was first reported by CNN.

The Federalist Society hosted an event in Philadelphia the same day, marking his 20 years on the high court.

The spokesperson said Alito was thoroughly checked by his personal physician and returned to the court the following Monday to participate in oral arguments.

He has not missed any scheduled arguments this year.
