They can't, you know... Well, you will... I mean, if I was a fuel manufacturer for Formula One, developing the fuel... What does your knowledge bucket say, Ed?
Well, my knowledge bucket says that the amount of fluid I put in there, it will be as dense as it possibly can be in terms of the knowledge.
I don't have...
10% more energy-dense knowledge to put in the bucket, do I?
Because if I did, I'd have done that.
So you're right, but I'm not sure that's... I mean, there may be ways in terms of the formulation of the fuel.
You could open that up.
Perhaps you'd need to be a chemical specialist in the field to know if that's possible.
But my suspicion is that would be quite... I'm not sure.
I could be wrong, but I'm not sure it would be that simple because...
it makes sense.
Because if you can say to the engine manufacturer, well, we can do all this on 10 kilos of fuel because we've got this amazing energy density and have all sorts of opportunities, you'd have done it, wouldn't you?
So...
Because your car's going to be lighter and that has all sorts of other advantages in terms of weight distribution, etc.
So it would seem to me, John, that it's either shorten the races or my favourite position would be, well, there's cost cap implications here.
So you've got to find ways to give people, A, enough headroom within the cost cap to do new chassis.
and B, try and solve the problem of the fact that some won't actually have the financial headroom in real terms, because it's not just the cost cap, it's actually having the money.
So I don't know if you're a Haas or one of the smaller teams, you might need a little bit of help to grease the wheels as well as lifting that ceiling.
If it's worth doing, I prefer that than shortening the races.
I guess you can lean it off, can't you?
