An allegation is
All it is right now, at least.
But what is incredibly clear is that there is a pattern of sexual deviance that was never taken seriously enough to stop Wayne Cousins in his tracks.
He was allowed to simmer in his sick actions and even escalate to the point of murder all while clocking in for his high power job.
And I'm not entirely sure where to add this into the episode, so I guess I'll just say it now.
One or two of his old friends came forward to say that Wayne had always been
a weird and perverted person.
Back when he was in his 20s, he was dating teenagers as young as 14.
A fully grown legal adult dating a child.
It's horrifying to see just how far back these patterns go.
Oh, and also he was discovered to have been in possession of indecent images of children at some point in his life.
I don't know if they were in his possession at the time of his arrest,
but this is what an inquiry found later on.
I believe there were multiple different inquiries done internally within the police and issued by the government to dig into the workings of the Met Police and all the other institutions that Cousins had worked for in his life in order to figure out how the hell this could have happened.
12 different gross misconduct or misconduct notices were issued to different officers as a result of these inquiries.
There was so much shady shit going on behind the scenes that had been flying under the radar this whole time.
It soon came to light that many of Wayne Cousins' colleagues were very aware of his depraved sexual predilections.
As I mentioned earlier, he'd been very open with them about the fact that he liked violent pornography, but now it was discovered that back at the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, many of his coworkers gave him the nickname The Rapist.
And that was because he made a lot of female members of staff uncomfortable, be it with words or actions, we don't know.
but they called him the rapist as like a friendly, jokey nickname.
