These are the people that are hired and paid money to serve and protect us.
Thankfully, so many pieces of shit lost their job and were handed prison sentences themselves in the aftermath of this case.
It was like Wayne Cousins had opened the floodgates that had been locked for far too long.
And finally, all of this horrific activity could be exposed.
Eventually, even the top dog herself lost her job.
The head of the Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Cressida Dick, had said right from the start that she would not resign from her position despite the public calling for her to do so.
But eventually, as things got worse and worse, she lost the support of our mayor at the time and she handed in her resignation.
Now we've spent the latter part of this episode talking about the horrendous police officers that do need to be named and shamed, but now I think it's time we bring it back to the woman at the centre of this case.

She should still be living the amazing life that she had built for herself.
She would be turning 39 years old just next month,
She might have gotten married or had kids of her own by now.
And I think that's part of why this case stayed with so many people in the way that it did, because Sarah Everard felt familiar.
