We never talked about the flags.

Okay.

Do you even remember the story of the flags?

What has happened to me and the flag?

So listeners who have been here for a while might remember that I was at war with the city to try to get a crossing guard.

During that valiant fight, a child got hit at this intersection.

Luckily it was okay, but bruised and it was very scary.

Still, this goddamn city, a mess, did nothing.

Yep.

In fact, they put a crossing guard almost just to add insult to injury on the opposite side of the school.

Yeah.

I don't even need to get into all the fucking red tape.

But it's been... I basically took it as far as I could.

Yep.

I put so much time and energy into it.

And...

another parent kind of picked up the baton, who I'm very grateful to.

And he, in our talks, had this idea of putting these canisters up in the intersection along the stop signs and putting bright orange flags in every morning so kids can pick up a flag, cross, put it in the other side.

It's great.

And it, I think, really helps with safety.
